Just thought i'd throw this out, everyone that talks about FTP'ing to their xbox talks about getting flashFXP or some other program. You don't need it. All you have to do is open up Internet Explorer and for the address type FTP://192.168.0.3 (or whatever you IP is on your xbox) and when prompted type xbox for your username AND password. Its just that simple.
i think it's easier to use flashfxp because i have xbox live and i really dont feel like bringing my xbox all the way downstairs just to connect to my computer, but ur right if u don't have live then it is easier to connect it to computer cause that's the only way to ftp files without live
