Easy one for you all: Nero 5.5.10.x and DVD burners

    OK all:

    I'm new to the DVD burning world and had an old OEM version of Nero Burning ROM updated to 5.5.10 from an earlier CDRW drive. Nero InfoTool sees my new NEC 3550A OK (WinXP Home) and DVD/CDs run fine on it, but Burning ROM does not recognize it as a supported recorder (only sees 'virtual' Image Recorder).

    Am I stuck having to upgrade to Nero 7? Is it worth it?

    If this came with another drive, it may not work with your new one...many OEM software is tied, so to speak, to their respective drive.
