EB Games, Gamestop, Toys R US Preorder?????

it bothers me when people would drive up and stand in the front of the line and start talking with their friends, people who had never been there. maybe they we hanging out? i dont know. but all the wii's and ps3's were totally sold out about 5 people in front of me. the people in front of me in line got there about 40 minutes before me, and the front of the line was there at 10-11pm last night.

maybe now with your insight i should start camping in the morning on the 15th, or the 14th late at night if things get drastic and people are already their. this is the most crazyies camping over a console i have seen in my life.

 

I wonder how many fights there are gonna be on launch night?? lets say you are fourth in line and 5 people walk up to someone in front of you after two hours or soo?? then that makes you ninth!! Believe me it will happen !! i was 20 or so back last thanksgiving at best buy at 3am, by the time they opened the door i was like 50 or 60.... and a bunch just got out of thier cars and ran in when they opened the door!! i know they were giving out coupons for certain items so no one else could get it, which is a good thing!!! but i was like second to last to get my item, and that is bull!! because i should have been twentysomething instead of fiftysomething!! no thanks i will wait for the second generation .. the first wave of ps2's and ps1's had some faults with the consoles...so i am gonna wait till christmas 2007 looks like my ps2 will have to hold me over till then?? /unjust

 

yeah this is soo retarded!! ppl are waiting 2 days just for a preorder!! i mite have to rethink my strategy as well if i plan on getting a console on nov.17th . i don't think canada will be as bad, but i'll c if i can get there the night b4 and start camping then. i've got 1 question tho; what if you fall asleep?? can otha ppl pass you in line then?

 

but seriously what is one to do in a situation like that. Threaten them, that's not going to work... (although I AM bringing my pocket knife with me ).

 

oh, and when the hell is Amazon going to start taking pre-orders in the US. I hear that some people have been lurking on it for weeks, just take a look at the forums lol

 

well, i figure if you have a tent you can pitch it right next to the door and i doubt people will get in front of it aslong as you leave little space. plus, i hope my strong friend makes it for intimidation reasons.

 

damn I see everyone did have any luck may this is gone be bad ! if its gettin like this think about Nov 17 ? buy from what I read Best Buy is gettin more than any other store so they might have more than Eb . I think from first to 15th in line you might still have a change of gettin one

 

Yeah like if you were already standing their and a person saves you a spot then thats ok. But if someone came late and if they knew somebody and stood with them infront of everyone else to get a ps3 then that isint fair.

 

I'm thinking Circuit City since it's close to Wal-Mart by where I live so I can go take bathroom breaks lol.

 

Best Buy and Wal-Mart aren't the only stores... think about Target or k-mart, costco, Sams Club, Amazon.com,circuit city..can anyone think of anyplace else? i think i would rather camp at target it might not be so crazy?? just a thought ? /Unjust

 

I think the whole grounp thing is bs and I belive someone coming to hold you spot while you go to the john or get a break then that's cool, but companise don't' really care about that as long as they get there money, but grounps will be selling them on ebay for more so they're the ones making money. Another thing about ppl hold spots for other ppl and cut in line I would f'em up and tell the f'ing ass to better get in back on the line which I would actaully fight for even though it stupid but just to make a statement and let everyone know that is unfair for all the customers that have been there.As for me and toysrus I also had no luck and probably won't have luck on nov. 17 but am keep my hopes up. Good luck guys. If anyone here in pheonix az has a plan or is will to plan out something to get our hands on the ps3 pm me and we will.

 

hey i just got an idea; take a cam with you and take a pic of evry 1 in ur group and as long as one person stays you're set. once they come back, if any1 says anything about them cutting, just show them the pic n they can't say shit

 

i really cant wait, it'll be a fun night. last night was fruitless but fun i guess, and i can imagine the launch being better since i'll be alot more prepared and closer to the front. aslong as people dont start lining up earlier than an hour before open the day before launch than im safe even if they do its out to a best buy in a town with 7-9k people.

Well I got lucky. I got at our toys'r'us at midnight, the store opened at 10a.m. People started camping out Friday night here. They had 6 ps3's and 15 wii's and of course the elmo's. I was 10th in line so I actually got a presale for the wii but was hoping for the ps3 and of course had to pick up a elmo To have gotten a ps3 I would have had to been there at 7:30p.m Saturday, four and half hours earlier. The worst thing was that it was daylight savings here and the time went back an hour at 2a.m.

 

wtf is with this elmo... I kinda didn't pay attention when the lady was explaining it to me lol. I was like - lady - "stfu, I don't need any Elmo, I need a Sony Playstation 3".

Oh, another cool thing that I'm looking forward to on launch camping is getting to meet some weird, but yet cool people. Always happens lol.

 

this is gunna be so hard to plan. with people coming so early you dont want to imagine what underestimating could lead to. i think i'll check best buy at close on the 14th and if nobody is there i'll come back at 11-12 that night to set up and wait through the next day.

 

yo thank god i live in the most northern part of the usa with a pop of 6000 rednecks. No one is going to show up on a thursday until after work when all the kids can get rides and there parents will stand there with them to pay for their precious gift. I am getting there at 12 pm thursday afternoon. Putting up a poster with rules. Saying I am here first, and ne one who cuts ne one else is gonna get it. I am going to make numbered cards since I'll be first and hand them out to everyone who shows up if your not in the right order u aint in the correct spot for the system and go to your spot in the line. I'll be getting ma ps3 and wii.

 

You've all got me scared. The town I'm camping in (fargo, mn) has a population of about 91 thousand. I was gonna start camping at close on november 16th. Maybe I should get there earlier.. What time do you think I should get there? The earliest I'll be able to make it (if I don't want to skip class) would be 3PM on november 16th. Do you even think I'll be able to get one?

 

discussing camping techniques will only lead to others trying to beat them. thank god no one here is from my area (or so i hope). i never let on the whole plan though
