EB Games, Gamestop, Toys R US Preorder?????

this is every thing people need to know. yes GameStop will be taking preorders tomorrow morning, but you better hurry!

before people start asking basic or obvious questions, please read and re-read this info. i copied and pasted it straight from GameStop's website.

 

1. [bold]GameStop and EB Games will begin accepting limited pre-orders for the PlayStation 3 console on Tuesday, October 10, on a first come, first served basis[/bold]

2. [bold]A $100 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade.[/bold]

3. [bold]Reservations/Purchases are limited to 1 per household. [/bold]
-not sure if that means one per household per store or per chain, or one per person period...

4. [bold]a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch. [/bold]

oh yeah stores in my area open up at 10:00am

 

How come I don't see anything on EB website, and the person on eb I talked to today, at 2:00 didn't know this?

Where is the best place to wait/camp for the ps2? Like a store, who will have the most ps3's.

 

just got back from GameStop, i was the fourth inline. store was supposed to open at 10, but since there was only four of us they let us come in. the one guy showed up at 6am and the other two showed up at 8 and i came at 8:40. the employee said they are allowed to take 16 preorders.

look, prte-ordering is still such a small factor in getting a console. so many people will be issued one w/o a console. pre-ordering is not what this generation of consoles is for, there are too few (cept for the wii being so chincy and inexpensive). too few are out there to slack back and be lazy.

 

well there was only four of us so i am not too worried. all i know is it beats sitting out an entire night in the cold, possibly snow, rain, wind etc. besides there is not really too much doubt in my mind that i'll get it at launch day.

 

Same here, my friend, my friends mom, and I were the first 3 people in the store, and the first 3 to pre-order, I will be picking it up at 10:00 nov 17. No doubt in my mind that me and my friends won't have them.

 

I already asked if you can preorder by phone. The answer was no. I'm guessing it's too late for most places to preorder anyways. Since preordering didn't work out for me, I might try my hand at camping. So (for the most part, I know that each individual store makes its own rules) does a camper get a PS3 before someone who preorders?

 

technically no, since that is the whole point in preordering. the way it is supposed to work is that those who preordered at say GameStop have the first opportunity to get the console without having to go through the hassle of waiting in lines outside and such. then after those who preordered have gotten their systems, w/e is left,if any will then be first come first serve. i am not saying that is how it is going to be, but in theory that is how it should work out....

 

So even though you pre-ordered get there early, you don't have to camp, but you need to be there when the store opens.
