I was trying to get an e-book reader for a large collection of e-books I have stored on my home PC as. pdf. Taking into account price and the fact that ALL I will be doing on it is reading the .pdf files what would be a good buy? http://www.bowindex.com/et2/ - this looks promising but I am not sure if I can; 1) Display .pdf or, 2) I have to download all the books from a specific site. Any ideas or information would be much appreciated.
Try Adobe, they have the Acrobat Reader which is free and also have an ebook reader. Go to their website and have a browse. www.adobe.com
No, it apparently does not take PDF files, nor any other major formats like DJVU or CHM. I'd stay as far away from the eBookwise thing as possible.
If you have a Palm device like Treo or LifeDrive then you can install Adobe Reader for Palm OS. MicroOlap has a CHM reader for Pocket PC, and there is an Adobe Reader for it as well. There's even Adobe for Symbian-baed cell phones, though reading that for any length of time might be grueling. None are dedicated devices like the ebook reader you mentioned, but the LifeDrive looks to have about the same size screen.
