I may be in the wrong place asking this question, but I am hoping someone can help me out. I have a few .avi video files of my nephews birthday that I took on my digital camera. I would like to put them on a DVD disk for his parents but there is a druken idiot in the background making various comments that I would not want my nephew to hear when they play the video back. To make a long story short (too late), is there an easy to use program I can download to mute out any unwanted sounds in these files and possibly make other sounds louder. I have been searching this website for an answer and I can't seem to find it. Any feedback will help... Thank you, Steve
If you load/drag the file into VirtualDub, click 'File' => 'Save Wav'. Leave Virtualdub open and run 'Audacity'. Drag the WAV into Audacity, select the naughty bits (highlight) and from the main menu, either 'Edit' => 'Silence' or choose the 'Effect' and select 'Amplify' to lower the volume or even 'Reverse' to make it unintelligible. When satisfied, 'File' => 'Export WAV'. Close Audacity. In Virtualdub, select 'Audio' => 'Audio from other file' =choose the new wav. Select 'Full processing mode' => 'Compression' => 'Lame MP3' => 48,128,stereo,cbr. 'Video' => 'Direct Stream Copy'. 'File' => 'Save as AVI' http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/audio_tools/audacity.cfm Install the Lame mp3 codec. http://users.tpg.com.au/mtam/install_lame.htm
