Hi, Please can someone help. I've got some nsv files that I need to edit. To start with I converted them to AVI using mencoder and the method described here http://stream-recorder.com/forum/converting-nsv-files-howto-t235.html?p=1668 So I now have some AVI files that I can play happily in all the media players I've tried. I now need to edit them. I've never done any video editing before but from reading this site I've tried VirtualDub. When I try to load the file in VirtualDub I receive the error "Couldn't locate decompressor for format "FMP4" (unknown) VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable" I've downloaded and install FFDShow, as recommended by a google result on the error, but that makes no difference. Can any one help me with a way round this? Either to get VirtualDub to open the AVI, or another piece of editing software that will do the job. All I need to do is chop snippets from the AVI and correct audio sync. Thanks for any help. Toasties
