Which Nero programs can edit captured video files (mpeg, avi, etc.)? I have Nero 6 that came bundled with my recently-purchased DVD burner that has many programs (Nero MediaHome, NeroVision Express SE, Nero Media Player, Nero OEM, Nero Express, Nero ShowTime). Do any of them edit? My desired tasks: trim out parts of a clip, insert intro pages/slides throughout the clip, add background music, etc. I have captured a number of videos and wish to edit and burn them to a DVD. I read a message about the Video Edit Magic software but I don't wish to download new software when Nero can do the job.
Hi. NeroVision Express is the editor. Here's a link to an old guide for editing with an earlier version: http://www.scs.unr.edu/~ed_lab/nero.html
I looked at the link for Nero Express Vision but it must be a different version b/c mine (Nero Express 3 SE) doesn't have the "Make DVD..." and hence not the "Add Video Files" or "Edit Movie" features. A warning at the top of the Help File says version SE doesn't support editing or making movies. So, is there any way to edit captured video clips, save, and burn onto a DVD? Also, I need software that can open a bunch of separate video file projects (.nvc in Nero Vision' case). Would any other software be better? How about free downlopading from Nero website the latest version 7? WHat that capture, edit (and open several versions at same time), and burn to DVD? Thanks. baedaebok
There's also TMPGEnc Author. Version 1.6 has a fully functional free trial. The newest version (not fully functional in free trial) has more bells and whistles. I prefer TMPG over NeroVision for editing. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda16.html Also Nero Express is not the same as NeroVision Express. Nero Express is just a wizard for Nero Burning ROM. I guess you just have an oem version of Nero or Nero-lite. You might as well give the newest Nero a free 30-day spin and see if you like it.
When Nero opens, click on the "Configure" button and then under the General: Task menu, choose Burn DVD-Video Files. I believe that this comes unchecked upon first install and has to be checked - otherwise you can only work with CD files. Statsman
