    folks,
I have a bunch of family videos that I've burned to DVD's. Hours and hours and hours.....

at some point, I will want to take these DVD's and pull certain clips off of them to make highlight videos, and then burn the highlights to a different DVD. I'm trying to practice that now.

How do I go about doing this? On my computer I have Pinnacle Studio Plus, 10.8., which I believe I will use for the editing part

I've seen posts about burning DVD's and then editing them later by copying the files to the Hard Drive and then editing them, but when I try to "drag" the files from the DVD to the desktop (I think they are VOB files?), and then edit them, the files are not recognized by Pinnacle.

Obviously I'm missing a step in there somewhere...... any suggestions would be appreciated (rookie here, talk down at my level, lol....)

I don't know anything about Pinnacle.
Does it work with MPEG files?
If so, since DVD format files are MPEG files, run VOB2MPG and convert the VOB files on the disk to one large .mpg file.

You Need to Download an Activation Key and download "Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel" Plug-in. then you can Import your DVD into Pinnacle. The Best Thing to do is to Contact Pinnacle.
