ELF files - Cog Swap

I've been going through the independence memory card exploit guide and was wondering what ELF files will run on PS2 MAX media player (ARMAX)?... The PGEN that comes with ARMAX obviously runs no probs, but when i take some of the other elf files such as Cog Swap and try to load them, i get a black screen - nada!

Running a range of ELF files through ARMAX would be excellent if this is possible? - from cdr, pendrive or whatever.

 

i get the same thing dude im fusking getting pissed i dont know what to do but like there is a mc loader.elf and i cant find it some one said its in the new media player well i put it on my pen drive and tryed to open it and it didnt work but shit dude im going to keep trying so peace if i find out how to do i will tell you

 

Hey man, got my ARMAX do help me out at last! - here's what i done:

1. Download Cdloader (cdload75.elf) from ( http://www.console.iscentral.net/download.php?view.24 )

2. Burn it to a cdr using max media creator PC software (you can add mcloader and other elfs if you like)

3. Put your burnt cd into your ps2 when u've loaded max media player.

4. Select cdload75.elf and it will load (more .elf files will load from your cd than from pendrive cause of the way they're programmed)

5. When it loads, press eject on the ps2 and put in an official ps2 cd game.

6. Next use a slide tool to pull out the tray and replace it with a compiled MC expolit disc. Press X to load the disc.

7. The MC exploit will install all its files on the MC and once you put in your ps1 game, you can load any elf file off the mc. (NO MOD required)..

This is the way i've cracked the problem recently, and it runs a dream, for cogswaploader.elf, mcloader.elf, ps2media.elf and pgen.elf.

Cdloader will definitely load off an Action Replay cdr.. and this is the key to installing your exploit which will do all the work from there onwards.

Hell ya man I know I got the the files last night.Here is the thing man it wants me to cmp ok so I typed in all the bull shit and it didnt work.Can you help me please and one more thing does it load dvd games to.

 

What do you mean by "cmp" - what is it your typing in where?.. which step are you stuck at? lol

And yeah, cogswap definitely loads DVDs

 

well on swapmagic.com they hav e a cog swap and it saying totype tilteman and the playstation id so i doit in command prompted like it is saying and it does not work not a command its bull shit i new it would not be easy but fusk the thread that was telling how to do it said to do it that way because you do need a playstation 1 game right peace

Ok but I dont want to order swap magic but did you get it to work with you action replay max.The other thing is what am I doing wrong please help this is bull shit.This is what I just did and it didnt work.I put cogswap.elf on the usb flask card and go into my media and it just goes to a black screen.There has to be a file missing if you can tell me what I am doing wrong it would help a lot. Whats up I got mcloader.elf and it loaded up that must be my first step.The other thing I wanted to ask you?I got grand theft auto and it has to be put on a dvd 9 will it work with cog swap?The other thing for a game to work does it have to be a big as your boot disk.thanx and sorry for all????????PEACE MAN and nobody ever told me i needed mcloader i am glad you gave me that site

 

DVD9 just means it is a dual layer disc. I have no idea if cog swap supports that format, but here's how to burn it to a single layer DVD-R:http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/

 

hey what if i burned the game with the burning program that came with action replay would it make it fit on a dvd-r or no and i got the mcloader.elf but were do i got the title.db files that have bin made already

Hey man, cogswap.elf will not load off AR MAX media player DIRECTLY for me either. It does for other folks though, hit and miss really.

However, thats why you need to use the above steps to get it to run. You do NOT need a ps1 game to get it to run by these steps. The program asks for it to give you the option of loading through the mc, but you don't need to do that, just run your loader through cdloader with the slide tool method. (just paste SLES_000.53 in the box for the ps1 sles code - it'll make no difference if you can't load of mc anyway)

MCloader.elf will run for me too, but wont let you load backups through THAT program.

The idea is... go to Step 1 of my guide above and download the cdloader.rar file from exploitstation.com. You'll need winrar or the like to extract this file, and it'll give you "cdloader.elf". CDLOADER WILL LOAD just the same as Mcloader.elf through AR MAX, except you'll need to burn it to cdr and load it just like you would an mp3 cd in media player.

Once you've got this done, i'll help you get the rest completed - not difficult once you've got this bit setup.

 

Ok check this out you want to know why you could not get it on your memory card is because you still got to burn all the bull shit on a cd when you have mcloader.elf loaded you put the cogswap.elf on a cd and install it with the mcloader.elf but hey its cool ill just do it your way i all ready got cdloader.elf but it 12:06pm right now i got to go get some cd-rs but will not get them till 3:30pm i will be back on at 4:30 so see you then if you can be on at that time just reply saying ok if not just type in a time you can get on after 4:30pm and i will be on peace man thanx for the help

Mcloader.elf wont help you out with loading cogswap.elf. It loads elf files from a file called "Reality Mediaplayer.max" on your memory card - the "exploit disc", on the other hand, installs the elf files to "Your System Configuration". There is a way to do it with MCloader, but you'd need to do the compiling yourself and transfer the file with ARMAX memory card manager - more complicated and MCLoader does not load .elfs as well as a launcher like ps2menu (which will not load "directly" off ARMAX).

The sumamry is MCloader only installs files for PS2Reality from a compiled disc, you can get it to load PS2 Media Player, but nothing much else.

If you give Cdloader.elf a go, let me know where you get to with it!

Ok heres what I did.I put the cdloader.elf to a blank cd and it read but it just went to a black scree.please help I dont know what the hell im doing.peace

 

So you downloaded cdload75.rar from exploitstation.com - extracted cdload75.elf, burnt it to cd (with Max Media Creator - create bin/cue, then nero to burn disc image)...

Booted up AR MAX, loaded media player, put in your burnt cd, cdload75.elf was on the file list and you clicked X on the play button... and it went black?

What were the exact files you put on the disc?

 

just cdloader.elf but i got to make it a image first

no - cdload75.elf should be all you need. If Mcloader.elf will load off AR MAX, cdload75.elf will also. If you compile a disc with say 10 elf files off exploitstation.com, which ones will load? - if you find Mcloader.elf will not run off your compiled disc, then there's something wrong with the way your burning the disc. If it runs fine on the same disc as cdload75.elf, then I was wrong about cdloader running on "all" systems.

I'll work out a way to load cogswaploader.elf through MCloader.elf if the above doesn't work.
