I'm not a newcomer to computers, grew up in an electronics repair shop in Idaho. Helped out there quite a bit. One thing I am confused about is accessing the bios of computers like Emachines, Compaqs, and Gateways during the boot sequence. How is this acheived? In addition, how do I access a comand prompt during the boot sequence on these machines (To eliminate having to put the drive in other computers for formatting.) as well? All comments and answers are appreciated. Thank You.
as far as how to access the bios try hitting F1 or Del on startup, to get the dos command hit F8 and it should nring up the menu like safe mode and stuff, and dos should be an option
That worked with this emachines! Last one i had would not access the bios with those controls... Neither will my current Gateway. In any case, I don't need to access that bios, so this will do anyways! Thank You.
