Its Christmas morning, and I'm trying to set this gem up so my children can watch some dvd's. Everything seems correct. On page 20 of the manual, it talks about initial setups. This doens't come up on my TV. I have even gone to page 22 where it talks about pressing the "Setup" button on the remote, I still get nothing on my TV. I even unhooked everthing and re-hooked up my old VCR to ensure I had my TV on the correct Channel...which is channel 4. I've played a Tape in the Emerson, and nothing on the TV, I played a DVD and nothing on the TV. Obviously I missing something and can't seem to find it. On page 130 is some troubleshooting. In the the General section the 2nd item sounds like my issue. I apparently can't get myself thru the channel setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Michael 719-687-9311
Mike My Emerson has to be on line 1 (L 1 on the display). If that doesn't work follow this link to my post. You need lots of cables and you'll learn what all the buttons do on your remote(s). Hope this helps. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/315325
I just bought an EWH100F also and I'm having the same exact problem as Dobbsm. I took out my VCR, and hooked in RF cables the same as were in my VCR. I can watch cable, I can watch my satellite, but when I try to watch anything on the EWH100F I can't find where it is sending the signal to the TV. I've tried all input lines (both my cable, and my outside antenna, as well as the other aux lines, but cannot find the signal. I have a Mitsubishi TV, which is not mentioned in the manual, but I can't see that making a difference. With my past VCRs, there has been a switch/button that told the VCR to bring the signal through it, instead of around it. So I could put my TV on channel 3 or 4 and then run the VCR tuner up and down the channels and watch different shows. With the EWH100F it just seems like the signals are passing through as though the unit were off. I have not been able perform any of the setup functions because I cannot get anything back to my TV. Can anyone help? Do I have a defective unit?
