OUCH...very poor media you got there...i would seriously take rotary's suggestion and get some media with decent dye~ i have this liteon burner too, it seems it DOES NOT LIKE this media, hence your writer going idle and stopping conversion def. recommend better media and then try again, hopefully, it WILL go through 2nd time around... docTY~
What do you mean by this? "also are you booktyping a -R disc to dvdrom?" there are times when i am able to burn using the same media. but most of the time i get an empty dvd after burning successfully. and you might want to know i had a problem before with the end-of-disc thing. and what i did was to upgrade my firmware to ksob and it got fix. but then i had this problem.
hi Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2286095 (508:01.20, 4465MB) i use 4300 no higher that is way to close for good media and like mentioned by yourself your burns are 50/50 if you get a good one on those discs, firmware just helped abit by the sound of things??? not sure on the booktyping as i am not brill with nero logs - creaky is theguy to check this out, its i saw this line of text 4:54:21 PM #23 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 2726 Start write address at LBA 0 DVD high compatibility mode: Yes
I was able to successfully burn to a different media. What baffles me is why does nero continue burning up to 100% when it's not burning anything. Shouldn't it give me an error. From what i know before it starts the whole burning process it burns a bit of sample to the disc and if the rom is unable to read it should give me like a power calibration error or something.
Here's the successful burn... LOL i think you hit it right on the dot rotary, those Nanya discs ARE POO~~ hehehe nero throwing a fit cuz the discs were so "poo-ish" LOL, there was no time for a CRC error cuz the discs made his dvd burner IDLE at the very beginning~ docTY~ edit: with your new disc, these INFOME are NOT much better, BUT, you will have to consider the fact these INFOME discs are DVD+R discs, NOT dvd-r like you were using before with the Nanyas... i think the fact that your nero "kicked in" and did in fact booktype these to dvd-rom, SOMEHOW that gave you the "successful" burn... honestly, i would suggest you get better quality discs, i can tell you from first-hand experience with that SAME drive, it CAN be picky about the media you feed it...you are probably saying to yourself, "i just burned this INFOME dvd+r disc successfully..why should i get diff. media?" ...well, i can pretty much assure you that in the "successful" burns you get now with either of those 2 manufacturers...they WILL start to experience problems in a few months time to a year or even sooner depending on how you store your backups...these 2 manufacturers are VERY POOR in terms of quality dye they use...dye rot is commonplace for their media...what you feel is a "successful" backup now, will NOT be later down the road...i can guarantee you that... docTY~

Still burning a little too close to the edge... Can't say i know that brand, but i believe they are Phillips... You should burn @ 4x to stay in the safe area all the time. That's another Gb burn into your disk. [edit] Am i bit late... lol
