Emptying hard drive

    Hi guys wondering if anyone can help have just reinstalled xp pro onto my machine hoping it would delete all files on hard drive so that it was empty but it hasn`t and is now nearly full can anyone tell me how to delete all files from the hard drive so that it is empty

    You will have to boot from the CD at start-up and do a full format of the hdd to get rid of all the data,

    If you go into your BIOS and set it up to boot from the CD you can do a full format.

    or use a win9x boot disk to delete & make new partition

    Thanks for the reply i`m new to all this computer stuff so i put in my xp disc on restart select the bios menu and choose to boot from cd

    Were do i get a win9x disc ?

    Yeah and then just follow the on screen instructions. Just remember to Delete the partition and not set windows up on the current partition
