BTW...I have heard that i can get emulators that will let me play older games or games from other systems to work with Evox dashboard. While there is plenty of info floating around on the web, nothing is seeming to be broken down to beginners levels. I'd love to get my kids playing some of the80's and early 90's games that I grew up with....Where do I get the emulators and games? Thanks
before i start i must say that it is illegal to have roms(i.e games) that you do not have the original to. If you own the original it is perfectly legal to download a rom of that game. You are right in thinking this. You can install emulators for various consoles on the xbox to play all the classic games. First you need to find the right emulator. You have to have one that works with the xbox. check out http://www.x-b-o-x.net/modules/news/ . For the ROMS there are hundred of site over the internet offering you the ability to download them. Check out prevoius threads of how to get them onto the xbox.
Not in all countries, some countries have made it legal to emulate games from obsolete systems. ie.vectrex/atari/vic20...etc. This is providing that the copyrights to the said game are non active. Games like pacman and donkey kong still have active licenses so they are illegal to emulate, whereas games like bump and jump might not have an active license. It's all in the DMA.
