emulators are just what they sound like. It is a program that was made to emulate a certain game system in order to play those games on another system.
They have them for just about any old system out there like
    Atari, Nintendo,Super Nintendo,Gameboy,Gameboy Advanced,N64,NeoGeo,Sega Genesis, and others.

or go to a torrent site and search for BAED
    (Big A$$ Emulator Disc)
there are several and each one has roms and emulators on it, about
14,000 games to be exact. Then you just burn the ISO file to a DVD and can play it from the disc and not take up HDD space.

you put them in the emulators folder on the C:
if you do not have one then create one.
You put the roms in the folder with the emulator that plays them.
My suggestion is to get an auto installer, which will do it all for you as long as the Xbox is softmodded or chipped.
Auto Installer Delux and Slayer 2.6 are the most popular.
they have the emulators, roms, lot of apps, and the most popular dashboards that can all be installed with just one or two steps
