I been using this free program for a couple of years with hardly any probs. Here lately when i try to encode .avi & .wmv files to .mpg. I either get a file that with perfect picture but no sound or i get sound and picture but the movie is complete but it still has time left on the file. In other words have of the file is movie and half is just dead air. What is wrong. Is there a better free program ? Is ther any hardware that can encode these type of files. .avi & .wmv? If so where can I buy it. A got a ton of .wmv files to encode to .mpg but I am really wasting quality time with TMPGEnc lately. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
I've been using TMPGEnc Plus for a few years and the latest update makes it a lot more stable. http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tp.html The standard fix for TMPGEnc problem you have with blank video at the end is to load a separate .wav file as audio track. For example, drop your .wmv file on GoldWave 4.26 and do Save As 16 bit signed stereo .wav. Load your video in TMPGEnc but then load the .wav file as the audio. I know you can go from .wmv to .avi for free with Stoik Video Converter v. 1.1 http://www.gold-software.com/download2492.html If you encode a lot of files then in the File Menu of GoldWave select Batch Convert. Choose 16 bit signed stereo Wav and just drop a bunch of video files on the dialog.
