    Hi Guys,
Im trying to encode an AVI file to an MPEG so i can create a VCD. AVI is encoded by a div3 codec. Problem is that when i encode usin TmpGenc there is blocky interference at the top of the screen. THe AVI plays perfectly....any ideas ?

    Cheers

    Hello there!

TMPGEnc has many problems. Try Cinema Craft Encoder.

Other solution: use DVD2SVCD, it will set the parameters of TMPGEnc automatcally. Download form: http://www.dvd2dvd.org/
    Also can find a manual.

For VCD Tmpgenc is the Best, CCE is better for Mpeg2 But for mpeg1 VCD Tmpgenc is much better, I don"t know what the Blocky interferance could be if it is Just at the top of the screen But if it is Everywere it could be macro Blocks and they are caused usually by a Shortage of Bitrate and from useing Low Quality source files...
