encoding software question

    Greetings. What is a good solution (format and/or file type) for encoding dvd back-up files to save hard disk space? I would like to still be able to recode them to dvd. Thanks for any help.

    why dont you use winrar to rar them all together and then burn them to disc.You can always unrar them when you want to play with them at a later date or maybe try soreenson squeeze

    Dude, the answer is all around you - Divx/Xvid. Read one of the guides to learn how to convert your video files to dvix/xvid.

    Thanks 4 the help. im currently trying ratdvd- seems effective but time consuming.
