Well forget that idea. Here's the response I received from Canon about it.

I think it was a bad decision on Canon's part because it leaves the US CD printing market Wide A** Open for Epson.

Well, so much for Canon. I'll just buy another Epson when the time comes.

BTW, I'm NOT a Canon customer. Doubt I will be.

    @ Newbious:

I believe it is a sticky licensing issue that is stopping Canon from selling their Pixma Series printers with the CD printing feature. I do believe that they would undoubtedly be made available if they could.

@ Anyone in the US who wants a CD Pixma:
All is not lost though for those wanting a Pixma with CD printing...Order online? There cheap here in Germany...anyone got a friend in Europe?, get them to buy you one!! plus buy a cheap electrical converter if needed.

Hey there..Manu_DVD..Thats a good idea why don't u go ahead & set it up check out the shipping & if u need a electrical converter..or just have to move a couple of wires..maybe theirs a switch on the printer.BET U could sell a few right here through Afterdawn..I'd buy one..but probably the shipping is to high..maybe the warranty could be covered in the USA..WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT CANON on that & see ?

Why so sarcastic man? - Ya! just more of what is needed on these boards!!..

I buy equipment from everywhere on this planet, Japan, China, your stamping ground when and if I need too, so what if the shipping hurts or you need a power adapter, at least your getting the product you want..

Ok...Well it's a nice thought but I have my hands full right now! Thanks for the suggestion though..

Theses days I don't bother with fancy full face printing, I simply prefer a B&W or colour logo any some basic text..see below..

Does anybody know if there is any other softare that can be used with the Epson R200/R300 Printers to print directly on to CD/DVD's other than using Epson PrintCD, i find the Epson Version is too basic and lacks features.......

Does anyone have any bad experiences with silver printable CDs instead of the white ones. I am thinking about trying the Silver, hoping they are more shiny maybe? Thanks.

For some movies I actually like the silver printable ones better. It gives them a 3D effect.

Can the silver ones be printed on with injet printers?

I thought they were thermal printable.

I like the Silver printables over the white versions..

They come out great and yes they are inkjet printable. Ritek Silver printable DVD-R G05 are a great affordable disc.

I just bought some Taiyo Yuden Silver printable dvd-r from supermedia.com but they were only 4x, (but i dont think this will matter).

Anyone else who has a r200, does yours print a few black marks on every disc that you print and in the same spots? Thats what mine does and now its starting to print a couple more marks in the middle too. This is really annoying and i am wondering if anyone knows why this is hapenning.

I have a R320 same difference just a few more bells & whistles.
Make sure you are cleaning the roller after ever disc you do. Do this by running a blank sheet of paper through using the Paper fee/paper eject option. If you haven't done this tou may need to do it a few times.

I use that ink and it works fine.
Best deal I've found yet, two complete sets, 12 carts for $38.65 delivered.

I noticed the 6 cart sets are $2.00 more for the R200 than the R300.
Don't they use the same carts?
