I have about 40 .mp3 files that are part of a speech that I would like to put on CD. However, the volume varies on different mp3 files. Is there a way I can make the volume the same on every mp3 file in a batch process?
tell me..tigre..i v got a neat spectrum analyser on my sysytem..and it normally hits all the tops..reds..only if qulaity is very good.. sometimes,,if if burn a audio cd of mp3 .it just barely hits te tops..but these same mp3 if i normalize and burn thru nreo..it hits all th tops continously..evn though i cant make out too much of an audibel diff..what is happening here u think..??\
A spectrum analyser can only give you an idea if a recording is "too loud" = clipping. Every volume below slight clipping will sound the same (ok, if you lower it too much you'll start to hear noise). From what you tell, Nero's normalisation seems to increase volume somewhat in your case ... You might want to check ist with waveform view of some wave editor - you'll see quickly which is louder (and how much) and if it's seriously clipping.
not too much of a volume diff also..but all the reds keep lighting up..so was wondering if ther is sum qlty diff i am not being able to make out.. wanted to know if i shd use normalizing in all cds i burn or not?
If you burn CDs from mp3s, applying MP3Gain in a way that no clipping is left before will give you best possible quality. But beware - maybe the files are too silent for some portable players afterwards, so you might want to mp3gain to louder volumes ... In this case you have to find out yourself how much clipping you tolerate. If portable playback is not an issue, just use mp3gain.
i was talking bout the normalizing function i nnrep-properties..is that any good or r u recomm i use mp3 gain and then nero to burn..
