Hello everyone, I would like to first and foremost state that I, 87x, am an idiot. With that being said, let's get to the point. I softmodded my xbox with the Mechassault Run linux save game thing. I was using a file off the Action replay gamesaves community site and it worked fine. I softmodded and could now FTP to my xbox. What I really did this for is the Emulators. Well instead of trying to do this the easy way, FTP the emus to my xbox, I went and got AID2(Auto-installer Deluxe2). After messing around with that and burning the cd. I got nothing. So I decided to use the Softmod that came with the AID bundle. After installing that and having no problems I was still getting no where with the burnt cd I had made. So, after atleast 5 hours of on and off dealing with this, and getting extremely angry in the process, I decided to scrap the whole Idea and start over with the original softmod+UnleashX software I had. I restored my Xbox to it's original state, glad I made that back-up, and proceeded to give it one more chance. I was still on the SID(Softmod Installer Deluxe) screen after restoring my original settings. So I went to "install sofmod". It installed. Then the game saves manager cought my eye. I went to that and decided to get rid of that Mechassault game save off my hard drive. So I deleted it. Then went to the "Turn off xbox" button, highlighted and pressed it. All done with right?... Wrong. Now I don't have a dash to load up and I get error 13 messages if I don't load with a game in the disc tray. No too bad, but My xbox live isn't working. BIG change there. When I originally installed the softmod my XBL still worked, but now it doesn't and thats the only thing I have an xbox for. I can't Run linux again because the save game file has to be on my hardrive and currently it is only on my memory with no way of getting it to my xbox HDD, because there is no type of xbox dash to load up to get to the game save manager. So here is my dilemma. I really need help from the people on this board about what to do in my situation. How would I go about fixing my problem? or is it just a lost cause. I would appreciate any help given and Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help with any information they can give.
I'm not to familiar w/ softmodding, but I know people on this site are, http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/ Check out the forums there... Oh, and Error 13 means this, Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
Does it load a backup game? If so, you could always get slayers and run that to restore the original dash and start over. I'm sure there is an easier way, but this has happened to me and it still loaded a backup. So what I did was run slayers, restored the xbox back to original and started over. If it doesn't load a backup, then hopefully someone here can help ya. I'm still a newbie to this,but I was able to install a 80 gig HDD today. YAY for me..but that doesn't help you any..
