Ok....here's the deal. I recently soldered a spiderchip to my v1.6 xbox. I know the spiderchip is solderless but thats another story. After I installed the spiderchip (no problems there) I flashed it with the newest evox bios. Now before the modchip this xbox (that i got for $22 off ebay) booted up to give me an error code 21. Now that I have installed the mod chip, flashed it with the evox bios...it still gives and error 21. I know the bios flash went ok b/c it displays the evox logo on boot. But after a few seconds it goes to the error screen. I have no access to this box whatsoever. NO FTP....NO GAMES WILL BOOT. I do not know what to do. Just getting a working modchip...and then a pin header...and then getting it all together has take 3 weeks...now I get this error. Does anyone have any ideas?
well an error 21 can be a lot of things but it usually has to do with your dashboard not being found. i would try flashing the bios again but i dunno i will read up on it or u. also make sure all your connections to your hard drive and dvd drive are good too.
Can you boot to the modchip's OS? If you can, then you should just need to burn a copy of an autoinstaller and let the new bios run the disk.
i have the same problem. i have an error 21, also. ive tryed using slayers autoinstaller, and it wont work. ive burned almost 10 copies, and none of them have worked. ive tried burning them on dvd+r, cd-rw, and cd-r. i can play games that arent burned, but i cant get to the dashboard. i think that i must have done something to a file when i tryed to put surreal 64 on my xbox by ftping. now i cant even ftp to my xbox, because when i open up flashfxp, and enter in the IP address, it says that the connection failed because the connection was refused. can anyone help me with this problem? my knowledge on xbox is very little, so i kinda need a step by step solution. i know most people are getting sick of me leaving these kind of replys, but i really wanna start using my xbox again. thanks
