ello all im at a complete loss....whilst on evox i restored ms dashboard on doing this i got a error code 13...but now i hav a error code 5 im pretty sure my hdd is dead n i dunno how to fix it...i got a pc hdd straight outa my pc (unformatted etc) in my box at the mo it gets a error code 16 i downloaded slayers 2.6 but im not sure how to burn it and will that unlock/lock my drive and yes i hav all th hhd keys and passwords for my xbox.....any help?
error 5 means your hd is unlocked...your hd must be locked to run the ms dashboard...lock your hd, and you should be good to go.
If you don't know how to lock your hdd first here are different ways of locking your hdd: .Get into evox and edit the .ini to allow lock/unlock (can be found I beleive in the tutorial section of xbox-scene) if you can't get to evox- .If you have a modchip like Xenium or Smartxx then the os supports unlocking and locking of the hdd(i'm pretty sure) or you can go to xbox-scene and check in the tutorials section on how to burn xISO's so you can burn slayers and use the modchip, don't have a modchip .If you were smart you made a backup on your computer of the unique hdd key that is used to lock your hdd so you can pop the xbox hdd inside the computer and use that key (and hddunlock also found under tools xbox-scene) and lock it from there, didn't back your epprom or hddkey .You might now consider to buy a modchip and solderless adaptor, or wait till i'm awake to actually think of how to get out of this lol (I've done it before but I did backup my epprom although it was locked in my hdd lol) Any questions pm me or post, Degalle
wow you guys are guna love this....yes i did get my hdd key and i got liveinfo to generate a new hdd key for a new (pc) drive...i even hexed it n im pretty sure i done that right (tutorial on xboxscene) i had the hex values 4252 4652 (in red) and yes i prepared my drive by zeroing th first 4096 sectors....but my stumbling block was i thought the original xbox hdd was dead (error code 7) on llamma....so i jus formatted it on mmc pretty sure i formatted it wrong anyway (partitons etc)....anyway now for my new drive that has been prepared and hexed the hdd driver get a ordinal 5078 error so i cant even recognise the new xbox hdd....and now i got nowt to restore into the new drive....oh and yes on liveinfo i did load my eeprom from th back-up i made wen i first had my box softmodded and that generated a hdd key to lock my new hdd and now its locked (via hdlock/unlock) and i checked on atapwd.exe and its all plus' but for a "m" in th v and th x at the end of th "selfvx" or sumit plz plz plz can i get a back up of a xbox drive restore it to my new drive .....or can someone help with error code 6?
