I recently got a internal pioneer dvd/cd writer w/nero, I want to make a backup of my movies and i downloaded dvd shrink and kept getting errors, i then downloaded a different nero version and still got errors. I then downloaded dvd decrypter and still keep getting errors it pops up saying i/o error and my dvd burner next to it also saying command sequence error and check condition.I have had it say medium error to. This is always after it reads and its time to write, I also was able to get only that far in dvd shrink, i am slowly going insane lol ANY help is appreciated!!!!

All of those programs have not been updated in some time (DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter) to keep up with newer copy protection that has come out. Nero Recode2 will not rip any copy protection off a DVD due to copy righted laws.

So most will go with ANyDVD since it is updated very often. You can download a free 21 day trial of AnyDVD at http://www.slysoft.com

Once you download it and install it run it and it works in the background. You will see a little redfox in the botom right hand corner of your taskbar. Once you see that running then you can start using DVD Shrink or Nero Recode2 to backup the DVD. AnyDVD will get rid of the copyprtection.

If you still have trouble then make sure the disc is clean and scratch free.
