    I was ripping a dvd to my HD using Nero 7 until I got an error about in the middle. I thought it was just a one time incident so I try it again and again I got the message. I also try using SHRINK and DECRYPTER but I also recieved messages for both. So I was wondering if any body could help. Here is the log (NERO):

    @loveya
    What time of DVD are you trying to rip? If it's a movie which one?
    What error did shrink & decrypter give?

    It is just a double layer music video.
    As far as I know, there is also no protection on it.
    I got this error for DVD Decrypter:

    I/O Error!

    Device:[2:0:0] HP DVD Writer 740b ED24 (E:) (ATA)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    Thanks for helping.

    Illegal Mode For This Track error can be caused by several things.
    Try cleaning off the disc. Is this the original or a copy?
    Shut down any unneccesary processes when trying to rip.
    Is this the only disc that causes this problem? Have you tried any others since this one?

    I have never had good luck with Nero and burning DL media, it does not seem to handle the layer break well. If you look at your log you will see that is where the problem is occurring. Nero is writing layer 1 fine, but has problems with layer 0. You would be better to try DVD Decrypter and use iso read mode, open your MDS file and then do iso write mode. I have found this program works much better for dual layers and negotiates the break fine. If you do not have it you can get it here.

    Your DMA is off on this drive, here is a guide to turn that back on.
