error message, what does it mean

    i have a problem, when i goto burn some dvd'd in TOAST it gives me an error message, that says problem or error with source material. what does this mean. I use dvdbackup then dvd2oneX, then toast

    Try posting in the DVD RIpping for mac section, it may be off better help to you.

    No-one ever seems to answer anything in Mac section as there are few users.

    But this is the wrong forum to be asking in as I dont think you'll get an answer here Brasco :-(

    Brasco23, I use a Mac and Toast also. I have found
    that you must follow certain steps EXACTLY and IN
    ORDER to be successful with Toast. I have several
    very expensive "coasters" in my trash can as proof.
    Here's what I do and it works for me.

    First use DVD Backup to process the files. Then take
    the resulting Video_TS and do this:

    Open Toast, click on "Data", select the UDF-DVD
    option, then click on "New Disk" (very important step).
    Then drag the Video_TS folder to the Toast window.
    Then rename the disk (the one called "My DVD") -
    rename it in capital letters (not sure if this is critical
    but I seem to remember this from somewhere).

    Now, do NOT burn a disk!! Save it to your hard drive
    as a "disk image" file. When that is done, open the
    resulting disk image in toast and "mount" it on your
    desk top. Now (VERY IMPORTANT) open the
    mounted image in Apple's DVD player or some other
    software DVD player, and play a few seconds of the
    DVD. For some reason this is neede to sort of
    "validate" the DVD image. If you don't do this step
    you WILL get error messages.

    Now, Open DVD2One and select the mounted DVD
    as a full disk copy and make sure the size is the right
    size for a DVD (something like 4400 I think) - don't
    use a "user defined" size. Process the files and save
    them to another Video_TS folder (you will have to
    "hide" the original Video_TS folder because
    DVD2One will write over it (put it in another folder on
    the desk top).

    Now when you have this new, compressed,
    Video_TS folder follow the same steps as above
    when you created the image file except this time burn
    a DVD and make sure buffer overrun is selected (I
    learned this lesson the hard way also). Remember
    the order of the steps is VERY important - especially
    the "New Disk" step.

    Hope this helps - it works for me every time.
