Hey guys, Hope somebody can help me with this. I just purchased a pioneer burner, and I have the DVD XCopy Gold. I am using the Express program, and any DVD that I try to burn gives me an error message. I press the start button and immediately, I get an error message reading "Error occured reading sectors!"...what do I do??? Thanks

    sk4u11,
Welcome to the Regular AfterDawn Forum. You need to go to this Forum:
    http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/

Now that you are here what movie gives you that error and since the program has not been updated in better than 1 year I suggest you ditch that program and use DVD Shrink and DVDDecrypter( Both Free )

Are there scratches on the disk? Scratches can cause read errors if this is a Older Movie you are trying to copy. You can try cleaning the disk real well to see if that helps.

X-Copy can not break the newer encryptions and this is why I suggested the free programs (which do work and you do not have to disable anything to get them to work) Try them and they might suprise you

I tried the dvd shrink...and after analysing the video, I inserted a blank dvd and pressed backup...It then said that doesn't have a vaild sskey...and it was a sector error. Now what? All i want to do is burn some dvd's, is there anything out there that will allow me to do that??? Please help, thanks

It could be a bad pressed or scratched disc. I use Shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter on Fuji 8X DVD+R blank, and never have any problem.

Did you just analyse, or did you let the movie encode before you inserted the blank dvd?

I analysed, and then let it do whatever it needed to do before I did back-up. Is that encoding something that I have to trigger? It was "in good company." That was the name of the movie, and also, do I have to download the encryptor as well as the dvd shrink? thanks guys

    hi

i would rip (take out copy protection) with dvd decrypter always!!! as this app is updated for new type protections on a regular basis!

use dvd shrink for compressing (has to be done 99% of the time to fit a dvdr5 size) / re-authoring (say you ony want main movie only - no extras?)

rip in ISO mode in DD then load the ISO to DS to compress it! then hit backup button/tab (you will see in setting here you can enable dvd decrypter to burn!)

as stated above i think, both apps free!

There are some excellent guides available in my sig by Scuba Pete and bbmayo, read these for info on how the programs work and settings.
