Alright this is how it went down. Make xbox was soft mod, with mech assault.The softmod that I have can be switched on and off by simply reloaded the mech game and runnin linux and switchin too off.well the mod was off cuz i was playin xbox live.I went to switch it back on with the game.. and it glitched out when i ran linux.. so i booted the xbox off... deleted my softmod files and reloaded them back with action replay card. then when i went to run linux again it worked normaly, but i got this restore shit. so i figured ok i wanna restore xbox back to normal and re modd this whole thing.. as for restoring it back to factory.. I simply screwed it up cuz im guessin i didnt have the slayer back boot disk it ask me for. and now my xbox sits that this Error msg" 13 Service Reguired, Call customer support" screen, and its annoying the shit outta me. anyone tell me what I can do. do i need to find a copy of slayer of the net and burn it and hope my xbox boots it and restores everything. this file is what i heard about .. "SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-Installer_v2.5_FINAL.exe" any help plz!!??
Alrighty... Well, looks like the soft mod you used isn't compatible with the latest dashboard, or something else unfortunate occured. If you can't boot a game (which I don't think you can) then you'll have to hot swap or install a chip to fix it. Since I doubt you can't boot Xbox games, you won't be able to use Slayer's Autoinstaller either. Also, the latest version of Slayer's is 2.6.
no the softmod is compatible with my dashboard, it worked fine for the longest time now. just freaked out 2day.. i made sure i had all the right verison and everything when i did this. is just now, im on that error screen and ur sayin i cant boot any CD from that ?? like a slayer disk.. cuz i cant booot any games at al or the dash board and id like to avoid gettin a chip to fix this problem.. witch is just money i dont feel like wasting
seems like my only options is the swap thing.. problem is i dont see my microsoft logo so its gonna be tricky stuff too no when to pull out my cables, any tips lol
ok....go to forum http://afterdawn.com/thread_view/332766 for your hot swaping needs. this is the complete tutorial on how to hot swap. or if you would rather have a detailed tutorial on how to fix your problem only, then pm me and let me know. i will explain how to get everything you need in working order. as long as you still have the game you modded it with im hoping. if you dont have the disc then youll have to wait until somebody responds to my "manual mod" post. thats all i have to say. i have hot swapped and fully recovered my xbox(it wouldnt even go past boot screen to error message.) so you can trust me.
Well, you could always try unplugging the DVD drive prior to boot in order to get an error 11 instead of 13, then try to hot swap. Oh, and ds, please use the edit button instead of making multiple posts...
ok updating time..tryed the hotswap didnt really do much yet i still get that service error... but now if i load a game and turn off the xbox and turn back on it loads the game fine.. but all my saved games are gone.. and usely u take out the game and it gose to the MS dash and all i get is my error again 13 failure to load dash. so ya meh xbox can play games but my dash is gone i think :S.. so i figured now that i can read games.. I burnt a copy of slayer on to a CD-R as IOS.. put that in the xbox and it dose not load.. plus i dont have the picky DVD rom, this one basiclt runs anything.. just not this for some reason.. and i DONT have a mod chip.. and I do believe that its not softmod ne more. so i unno if a normal stalk XBOX can read this CD-R with a IOS slayer installer on it.. so anything ppl??
all is well all is good.. i fucked all the help I got on thie site and got my buddy to install a chip and put in a 30 gig hard drive.. and now i have everything i ever wanted.. minus the xbox live .. but there was no other way.. the hard drive i had so fucked... and couldnt get the eeprom from it... so installed new hard drive
