Firstly I hope I put this in the right forum because I am not computer literate. I've been having problems trying to burn anything at all, even music on media player and real player. The problem seemed to start when I got those automatic updates for windows about 9 months or so ago. Every time I try and burn something I get the error that there is no disk in the drive when there is. I have tried various burning programs such as nero, Pinnacle instant cd/dvd burning and others I got when I got my computer, all give me the same error. If anyone could please help me I'd be very grateful because it's very frustrating. Thanks in advance.
does windows see the drive, is there an exclamation mark in device manager, what windows version are you using??
not sure what you mean by "does it see the drive" but on the burning program, whichever I'm using it says there is no disk in the drive. I get this using Nero http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/9358/111ah.jpg I'm using Windows XP. oh and..I just noticed something, the cd's I'm using to burn say CD-R don't I need a DVD-R cd? But I can't burn music with these cd's either in media player..which I should be able to do. oh and there's no exclamation mark
I have the same problem except I am using CD-R and CD-RW discs which are recognised when I click on My Computer>D drive so it can read them for this but not for different copy to CD programs (Windows XP and Windows Media Player). Then I get the message that there is no CD inserted. The D drive also plays other CD ROMs no problem so it seems to be working ok otherwise. Help!
" You will DEFINETELY need a DVD-+r disk." lol. yes, kinda obvious really well I managed to burn a green day show onto a DVD-R disk, and it worked! So it's probably something to do with one of my settings on my pc or media player, because I still can't burn music onto CD-R :\
