My Xbox has an EvoX chip installed. I installed Avalaunch with A.I.D v4.30.

I have no problems transferring games to the HDD with QWIX or ftp'ing other files with FlashFXP.

But Drives F: and G: are inaccessible.

QWIX and FlashFXP say they can't access them, Avalaunch dash says 'ERR'.

I still have the original HDD installed.

    HELP !!!!!!

Did you install any apps or ever have it working... I would use slayers and format E and F .. there might not actually be an F depending on the size of the stock hdd though E should be present and correct ;)

    Is avalaunch your dash?

    Yes, Avalaunch is my dash.

My apps (Xored, Chimp, XBMX, etc) are on drive E:

When I boot up the Xbox it says there is no space remaining on drive F:

I still have the standard 8Gig HDD installed.

Is there anything on F: or G: that I need like game saves or custom soundtracks before I format them?

nothing will be on F... actually on an 8 gig drive it's only going to be 2 gigs if that... G will not exist.

All custom soundtracks and stuff will be in E:\tdata and udata.

What probably happened (little forensics by guesswork) is you tried copying a game across that was too big for the partition and it crashed the partition tables.. not the most stable filesystem on the old xbox.. it happens.. I lost 5 years worth of saves and settings thanks to some malware which corrupted a complete 300 gig drive.. Best thing that ever happened.. all those great games to start over with.

actually just had a thought.. it's possible if you unlock the drive that some linux file recovery tools will work.. I haven't tried it myself but fsck -f may repair them.. I must give that a go sometime,.

    Ahhhhh..... now I remember !!!

F:/games is the default folder in QWIX. I tried uploading a large game (3.80GB) to this folder. I remember that QWIX froze after that.

    I'll reformat that drive.

    Thanks for the info.

You should think about getting a larger drive really.. Halo2 isn't going to fit anywhere, and it's not as big as some. Even a recycled 40 gig would make life so much more comfortable. 8 or 9 games and a few emulators or a film or music.. ;)

Anyway.. now you know that qwix ftp can and does have the capability to trash partition filesystems. In over 400 rips I only used it twice.. clonexb was my xiso maker of choice (until I rebuilt extractXiso so it worked).. along with ws_ftp-pro
Take care while you have a small drive.. even a small file can cause the ame problem if there isn't enough room.. I find things start becoming unstable when there is less than 68MB's free space left. Odd number.. maybe theres a page file area hanging about not including x,y,z.

    Thanks for all the advice.

    I can't afford a new hdd yet as I'm a poor pharmacy student !!

But as soon as I can I'll get a decent size one, maybe 120GB or above.
