My friend tried to change the menu screen for me to a picture of my liking the other day. He said it didn't work and now my xbox doesnt play games or DVDs anymore. Everytime I turn it on it comes up with an error screen with 16 in the top left. How do I fix it?!
He may have deleted a dashboard file or edited the wrong file in his attempt to change the menu screen. You can try reinstalling the dash in question and all should go back to normal.
Yup, reload the dashboard on there and you should be ok. Does it do this w/ your chip enabled and disabled? If your getting this error on both, try using Slayers, and hopefully that will boot up. If not, report back and I have another idea for you...
i dont have a mod chip... there was a soft mod on my xbox and he ran it and everything kindof got messed up. at first it gave us error 13 and then it went to 16. my friend said a slayer wont work because my xbox wont read any games, music, or movies at all.
Well since your friend messed up your Xbox softmodding it, your somewhat screwed UNLESS.... You put a modchip in your system. Then you will need to reinstall your original dashboard if you would like to play with your modchip disabled. here is q question for you guys.. Ok my buddies has a chipped xbox, not shure of the chip. But anyways i have a softmodded box and wanted to upgrade the hard drive. I used the xboxhd software to do so. I tried to clone his hard drive onto mine after like 35 hours of file tranfers i lock my hard drive and put it into my xbox, start it up and get an error 16. Do i need to put my original softmodded c drive ont to new hard drive and overwrite his files or something of the nature? Thanks of the help in advance
