What brand blank media are you using?? The error message is pretty straight forward. It is saying the blank media is at fault. Try a RW disc if you have one and see if it burns all the way as a test.

Memorex is on the do not use list. They buy the blanks from several companies that produce cheap/poor quality blank media. Yes, try the other ones you have. Remember to always use the best quality blanks you can get for dvd video backup. If the cheaper stuff does burn, you might find out that 6 months from now they won't play anymore.

Ok, i need some help. I have a Liteon 832sx with the latest firmware installed. I use Clonedvd2 w/ the latest version of Anydvd. This just started happening to me. I was able to burn with ridata -8x without any problems. I buy a new batch of ridata -8x injet printables and after 1% of burn I get the media error. So i try the latest version of nero and the same thing. I try a maxell 8x+rw disk and success. I figure the ridata batch is now good so i buy fuji 8x-r inkjet printable and i get the same error. At first I thought it was my drive but i'm able to burn with the maxell +rw. The error I get from clonedvd2 is the "Writedvd 10 11 w2" Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you got a bad batch of blank media. If it burns other brands ok, then its not the software. I would contact your supplier about the blank media. Ritek Ridata are usually good, but I have heard of isolated problems and fake branding of blanks.

That could be true. But what about the fact that I just bought some Fuji's and the same thing happened. I'm leaning toward the fact that the drive may be bad. It's hard to say. I can burn on a dvd+rw but can't burn on dvd-r. I can also burn cd's without a problem. I have contacted liteon about the problem, hopefully they can shed a little light on it. I just don't want to go out and buy another drive. This Liteon i have is not even a year old.

Could be a problem with the drive but hard to say. Usually a firmware update helps but you say you did that also. DVD burning is trial and error at the beginning. It sometimes takes time to find the right combination of software and blank media that works the best for your drive and system. Once you find that perfect combo stay with it. Use a program like DVDINFOPRO to see the media code off the discs that give you trouble. It may tell you more about the actual manufacturer.
