I have been having this problem a lot lately - I usually rip & burn with DVD Shrink, with AnyDVD running in the background. I realize that some of the newer DVD's have protection that may be too much for that combination alone to handle, but it SHOULD work on older DVD's (I'm trying to back up Brazil - dvd was released AGES ago & shouldn't have anything too complicated as far as protection goes). Anyway, I keep getting CRC errors during the burning phase. Right now I'm running it through RipIt4Me, but I've done that before & gotten the same error. Something worth mentioning is that during the burning phase, it reaches 25%, then starts over at 0%. After that, it'll go as high as 30 something percent, and stop with errors. When it stops, though, it goes back to 25%. That seems odd to me. The disk is slightly worn, but it plays fine in a DVD player. I started out using RiData media. I just tried it with a Maxell disk and it still got the error. *Bonus* I just bought a new Plextor PX-755UF, so we can rule out hardware right away. Anyone have any ideas? Software settings, perhaps? I can post logs after I finish my attempt using RipIt4Me (which I predict will fail).
