We just signed up for high speed internet and when we tried to hook up the ethernet connection It does not recognize it. In my device manager it shows up but there is a question mark by it. It looks like the driver is not there. Where could I find this, or is their any thing anyone can help me with this? Thanks, ---zen--->
Well we need what kind of computer and yada yada to be able to find out what driver yeah need. My fricken crystal ball is in the shop cause some newbie broke it.:>
Took 10 secs on dell's site..ooh dude..its a dell and sucks http://search.dell.com/results.aspx...ers&ira=False&s=gen&ec=&l=en&cat=all&cs=&c=us
Thanks dude. What type of pc do you have? If I were going to buy a new one or build one what would be your suggestion?
Amd all the way man. I run a computer shop in Pa and all my customers just love the amd's. Theu used to love intel till they tried out a few of my machines..:> My gaming and work comp is in my sig. There is a third I didnt add yet..
I am shocked at you ozzy....hijacking the thread to promote your shop!!! j/k Anyways, a yellow ! means the driver is there, but not installed correctly. Use that link that ozzy provided, download the driver and reinstall it. Best way to do that, is to extract the files into a folder, and use Device Manager to update the driver by pointing it to the correct inf file.
Hijacking? I been helping the guy since he first posted and he asked me which one I would recommend. And I told him..LOL!
fight children, i hate peace, i like a good rumble!!! zenarrrow, that exclamation mark is for your net card unless using an usb modem. so are you using usb cable or net cable to high speed modem?
If ya want to pay a measly thirt dollars and that link i sent doesnt help download driver genius pro and buy it. Then it will go by device id number and point ya to the right d/l link for ya hard ware. I actualyl use quite frequently on customers computers, cause its easier than looking up the board or device id.
Yeah make more money the more yeah do right? So with that proggy it saves me a trip over to pcidatabase to look up the device. LOL Yeah really got to stop smoking Mort....HEHeHe
*lights another*..... yeah, I'll get right on that! *cough* eh, I'm old fashioned in some ways, I like to look at the device, grab the numbers and head over to DriverGuide..., or the manufacturer's site...but that does sound like a handy tool to have!
That works too...but driver pro is good for finding obsolete cards. With that tool I figured out a d-link ethernet card is the same thing as a via and can actually use either driver set from d-link or via <cough><cough> Lights another Yeah I have to quit too. <<smile>>
Yeah I agree DDp. BUT...drivers are constantly updated and its pain erasing and renewing them. Why dont let someelse do it? :>
hey ozzy....I also live in PA and i might stop buy your shop...Where is Carbondale like what part of PA....I am kinda near Reading
