euro vox max b

    i have just purchased a euro vox max b, have set it up as per the manual. turned on tv and euro vox as the instructions, euro vox powers up but remote control is not turning euro vox on, to carry on to next step in manual. can somebody advise me????

    live in dublin and in a panic

    is it on standby (displays the time eg 12:30)
    or does it display channel no. eg 0006
