euro vox problem with menu and yellow key

    hi guy's
    my euro box has gone down
    i'm trying to go by the instructions that you's guy's are providing but i just cant get passed the press menu and yellow button part, as i do that the menu will appear as normal and there will be no sections to enter the codes as is supose to, all my friends box's have worked perfect under those instructions so WHY NOT MINE, EERRRR.
    The yellow button on my controler has sound writen underneath it but the other controler's have text, i have tried the text button on my controler to have just the effect as it was pressing the yellow button(nothing)
    P.S plz plz help
