Ive got a problem with my box. When it scans for new channels it will find channels like discovery turbo twice - but only one will have a listing for it. Other pernament problems are: 1. if you scan through channels too long/ too fast the box resets 2. when taking box out of standby, if you press for epg menu- hand control freezes and no functions workon the box for about 2-10minutes and then the box ' catches up' with all buttons pressed. 3. If i manually organsie channels without saving for a long time the box will reset and all previous work ive done will be long. So i have to re-organise about 20 channels at a time and then save. 4. information guide on a programme is only 3 lines long so sometimes a discription of a movie is missing the last part- there should be something to scroll that section. 5. with the new firmware and the new channel search, it organises some channels into the correct catagory- but not all. I have the latest firmware and except for the main fault ive mentioned the other numbered faults have been there since ive bought it.
This happens everytime I scan for channels just delete the channel you dont want or make your own CDF for future refs. Answers to, 1 When you say too fast how is that, it scans at it's own pace, I dont know your location so I cant say where to stop and stat your scan so start at 100 and end at 700, If your box is reseting itself try a factory default then try the rescan again. 2 Maybe needs a factory reset as above or re-flashing. 3 as above do a CDF and you will have your channels set perfect everytime UNLESS freq's change. 4 there all the same, little price to pay for free TV. 5 CDF will cure that. when i say scan through the channels, i mean i press the button to go to the next or previous channel i.e press from 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.... if i press very quickly to skip through about 20 channels the box freezes and resets. what is a CDF?
ahhh, ignore cdf question- realised what you ment!. A factory reset doesnt fix any of the glitches i get.it just freezes for a while and if i press epg button say 5 times(while froze), then when it unfreezes it will complete the five presses. This is the same for any hand controller buttos i press while its frozen. Not even the button that puts it on standby will work when froze. Theyre things i have grown used to, bt i thought i would mention it incase its a comon glitch that could be fixed if there is a future firmware release.
It shouldnt be freezing for such a long period of time and it not a "comon glitch", My box does it for about 5 sec's tops from time to time. If the factory reset dont work try reflashing your box if its something that you cant put up with, if this doesnt cure it then im out of idea's. What ever you decide to do good luck!
