eurovox 2008 help please

    hi all im new to this site so please be easy on me.
    i done a very stupid thing and decided to rescan my channel list on my eurovox 2008 because i wasnt getting channel 5 for the football. im now getting this channel and all of the other free ones but none of the sky channels etc. all it says on the screen is " please wait, updating codes" or something like that. have i totally mucked it up and do i need to but a new one?
