    Hi,
Im quite happy with my eurovox 2008 V max, but i thought i would write in to mention what i have found with it so far.

    1. If you want to pick up BBC3 you have to scan after 7pm(thanks for someone answering my other thread with that info). But in doing so you loose CBBC- one or the other!( not a big deal to me).

    2. In the menu manager section if you try to manually move around channels, you must not accidently press and other colour buttons, else it will reorganise by frequency or name- with out even asking you 'are you sure?'.
Another thing i have found is that if you try to move all 200+ channels in to a manual order you like the box will freeze and reset. So i would move about 20-40 channels, then leave menu manager- to which it would save the info- and then return back and continue like that until the entire list is manually organised the way i want.
But if at anytime you press another colour button ALL you have moved will be lost.

    3. Sometimes the box doesnt respond straight away to when i press epg button.
If i press it once and nothing happens, then press it a 2nd time and still nothing happens, i wait for about a minute and then it will spring into life and exicute the two commands showing the menu listing i want.

    4. I removed the old tv/Fm telewest splitter from the wall, which made no diffrence to signal quality. Sometimes pictures become glitchy, or break-up like they did on my Freeview box(like poor digital signal). But i ignore it as it oesnt happen very often, probably once every few days on no specific channel.

    5. The box's signal booster didnt appear to make any diffrence to how many channels i found, nor if i chose Normal scan or full. For some reason although im only a mile from my freinds house , he gets 2-4 extra channels(not very intresting ones). Yet if i scan at his house i get the same amount which work at my home.

    6. There are some channels its found that dont have a channel name, which are only blank screen. Others are just repeat channels of BBC,Itv Sci-fi and Dmax.I deleted all the porn channels, but for those who are interested :all softcore, repeated channels, blank till the evening or adverts.

More than likely you are with Telepest, (are you), as they have moved a lot of channels around and as a result you will see blanks.

    1. Your not losing CBBC it uses the same PID as BBC3 after 7PM and thats all.
reply-I Found on my box i ONLY have a Channel for CBBC, that became BBC3 at 7pm but had the wrong EPG menu. I have rescanned after 7pm and now i have BBC3, with the correct epg menu for that channel. I do not have a separate CBBC channel number. If im suposed to recieve BBC3 and CBBC as two separate channel numbers, then i think i would have to add it in manually (buy a data cable and download the software) as i believe rescanning before 7pm looses BBC3 and scanning after looses CBBC.
    2. You can use the UFL to organise channel, or dnupman or voxer.
reply-i bought the box with the help of a mate who knows more about these boxes, i intend to get a data cable to hook up to my pc. But without the cable, its a pain.
    3. EPG streams differ according to location and provider4.
reply- so your saying it has nothing to do with the box, just the area?.

    4. Either your signal is too low at times and a booster may solve this or it is in fact too high and an attenuator will solve this, or a combi booster with slope control will allow you to do both
reply- my signal is at 80%

    5. What revision of firmware are you using Beta 1 or 2?
    Reply- 1.0 STC4 Oct 29 2007

    6. More than likely you are with Telepest, (are you), as they have moved a lot of channels around and as a result you will see blanks
reply- Yeh im in the west midlands near Wolverhampton
