I don’t know much about the system but is there an option to format the HDD? Should not matter which HDD it is as long as it’s no bigger than what the Eurovox EX5100 can handle which I think is 120GB.

Can you hook up the HDD to a PC and format it if the Eurovox can’t do it?

I have a pvr ex5000 and bought a HDD, cant remember if its a segate or not for it. The issue I ahve with the hard drive, is that when the box is powered down to standby, it doesnt see the hard drive, or else it doesnt wake up the drive from a sleep mode. for me to record, I have to switch the power off and on again at the back, and wait for everything to reset, and then the HDD will record.

I also had a problem of not seeing the HDD, and I just removed it while powered off, switched on the box, and selected any function that would use the HDD, which is obviously not there. Then powered off, installed HDD, and did the same again and it was able to see it. This would happen regularly. Since then, I updated teh firmware, and the HDD functions are more stable, apart from the first issue I have above.

    Hope it helps.
