Hi all.I have what you have all written and am very impressed with your knowledge! I'm still confused though.

I am moving into a house in Dublin,Ireland which already has digital N*L and the basic package. This is fed from an MMDS aerial on a roof, down into the house via a cable and into the N*L box. Cho**us is not involved.

Q1. What box should I go for? Starview, eurovox 2006,2007,2008? I ask this as there seems to be alot of people using different ones.

Q2. There are three tv points in the house, will the one box be enough for all tv's or do you need a seperate box for each tv point?

Hope to hear from someone, thanks!

Either boxes will work with N** MMDS you may need to input the frequencies manually which you can get here. The Starview is the easier of the two.

You need seperate boxes for each TV or you can go down the line of video senders which are cumbersome at best or you can use an old video player to split the scart out into an rf connection, or you may go down the line of rf modulation boxes which can proof expensive either way.

Thanks sc0user! That was such a quick response.

The house I'm moving into has this "Smart Home" system which has 6 slots for boxes. This system is linked to all three tv points in the house. With your expert knowledge, have you heard of anything weird and wonderful you could do with such a system with regards to the starview or the eurovox?

If it is a Smarthome ask have they installed any rf modulators to allow you to distribute the signal, saying that even the modulators are not that smart unless they are top of the range and you will still only be able to view the same channel in each room.

The best way of having completely independent viewing is to have a seperate STB in all rooms.

Yeah, I realise the same channel in every room issue :-( However the current owner of the house has N** and the system for years so I will ask her if the system has any rf modulators. Like myself though, she is a complete newbie and won't have a clue!
So does each tv point in the house need their individual rf modulater on the smarthome system? ps - Thank you so far for all your help :)

You see Smarthomes can also be Unsmarthomes depends on the individual needs at the time. Have a look at this link courtesy of Brian1956 this will show you info on some modulators that may do the trick.
