eurovox ex500 is troubling me

i have the ex500 and have yet to get it working, i have gone through the fast instaltion and it keep stating there is no transponder to scan. also the qulity never goes higher then 8% could someone please help sort this out, i have had this for 4 days and not seen any channels yet and starting to think I have wasted my money

 

did you get the firmware from the tutorial and before scanning did you set the correct symbol rate make sure your cable feed is in the correct connection

 

what is the firmware, i havent had any instructio on this

I have spoken to the company I purchased this from and they said its already updated & should be working with the fast install, after trying this for 5 days still no joy. I am going to speak to the company again today & they said they will talk me through it but I am pretty sure we have done everything correctly it just wont go further with than 8%

Does anyone think I will be able to correct this
