    Hi everyone
Used HiTech's guide for downloading new software for EX5000 pvr - installed fine, also used your (HiTech's) guide for scanning channels and list for area baud rate, mine being 6.887 for tyne & wear, when scanning I'm not finding any transponders/channels my old provider is N*L - tried all baud rates listed on the install screen - still getting nothing.- bit of a 'newby' at this, has anyone got any ideas

    thanks in advance

P.S. Thanks for the guide HiTech

If you have downloaded the correct firmware and the message download successful appeared. Then connect to TV and do a deepscan (one of the optionsyou have on installation menu) Set to your area 6887 or whatever and leave it. When it goes through scan if there is nothing coming up on the screen at about 300Mhz exit and try reinstalling the firmware again. Is it from 4shared?

Before continuing look at the back of the box and check to see that you have plugged your cable feed into the RF in socket and not the Ant socket.

Do a Factory Default first of all then go into Menu Installation then user installation, press powerscan (the yellow button).

    A new box will load,

Start at 100.00 stop at 850.00, set the first symbol rate to 6887 then leave the other 2 symbol rates to 0.000. Set step to 8 then press ok to scan.

Thanks to HiTech and Connerban for replies, started a deep scan then left it for a few days went back to try again and found everything was working fine. I don't think i was leaving it long enough. Only puzzling thing is that the baud rate is now on 6.952 instead of 6.887 which it was on before the big crash

    Thanks again :)
