Hello All, I'm a new user to the site, and have already viewed and tried most of the suggestions posted. Bought the unit yesterday and still cannot get to work properly. I have downloaded the software FTA, and followed the booklet, but as an "educated idiot", I just cant get it to work. I have disconnected my Virgin cablebox and installed the Eurovox EX5000 PVR, with HDD unit fitted. Tried to install as best I can, but most channels appear scrambled, and dont get as many as with Virgin box connected. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to install a code of some sort? Help please !! We live in Liverpool area.
You downloaded the FTA- Free to air, which means the other channels that you pay for will be scrambled, What firmware you got loaded, Press menu, config, System info and in there type back what it says, it will start with model, SW version and so on.

I have downloaded and installed the UFL software,version v1.1a, from the site, and this is still not giving me the channels I normally receive, they are still scrambled. Do any of your channels work? where abouts are you and who is your provider previous the VM eg N*L TW. OK the firmware is fine, Do a Factory reset in the clear data menu, then try a fast install, make sure you symbol rate is correct for your area and provider, then ok to begin.
Hello again Hiteck, thanks again for getting back to me. I am getting most of the terrestrial channels which are FTA, but not the package channels we usually get. We are living just outside Liverpool, and we now receive our T.V. from VM, recently changed from TW. Can you advise on area code and how to install it? Thanks again.
To do a factory default, Press Menu, Config, Clear data, enter 0000,then Factory default, then ok on either leave recordings or earase all recordings, Your choice then ok again. Turn your box of for a min then back on. To install the channels after the factory default go back to menu then Installation, ok on "FAST INSTALL", enter 0000 again, press the red button for advance menu, Start set at 100.00 stop set to 700.00, Symbol rate at 6952, leave the other 3 symbol rate boxes as they are, step set to 8, then ok to begin the scan.
