Anyone have any info on which model is correct and that these boxes are just the ticket for HD ? Ive read a bit about them but nothing specific other than upscaling, usb and hdmi etc - anyone have any other info as in will it pick up and decrypt the HD channels !! ? Cheers
homer.the ex8000 is a dual tuner dvb-s and dvb-t tuner and the ex7000 will be a dvb-c stb when it is launched which i dont think it is yet.. as for pick up and decrypt HD channels, it depends what Hd channels you are trying to get and your location and other equiptment you use with these boxes,ie dish size, motor, type of aerial, there are already a good few dual tuner HD stb`s on the market and probally better specs as well..
any more info on the new ex7000 then? surely a standard coaxial input from cable wont decrypt HD channels? THe only HD channels on cable at the mo are the BBC anyway? would you actually get a true HD experience if you bought one of these?
Ok 20 mins into install... Scan only found about 180 channels - missed of Sly sports and a few others... Installed firmware by USB... no problems - recognises the file on usb and downloads it to box - takes about 5 mins. Cant seem to work out how to get the box to load the cdf file from my usb key though - so I am going to have to do this the old fashioned way of the null modem cable. BBC HD works lovely - but only on preview at the moment as early morning... All channels decrypt - but appear to be much slower than other Eurovox boxes - the HD channel takes a good 3-4 seconds to appear Will let you know how I get on - in mean time if anyone knows how to load the cdf file by usb key let me know Thanx
