    Hi All,

Just bought an ex5000 second hand and am having trouble fitting a new hard drive.

The pins on the IDE hard drive pins do not fit into the smaller connector in the box. Do brand new units come with this connector? and if so is there anywhere I can buy one.

    Thanks In Advance,

Not wuite sure what you mean, but I recently had a problem as the drive would not fit, and it was due to the end of the drive coming flush with the pins. The drive needs to have the pins only at the end sticking out (ie no actual drive casing level above or below the pins)

if you look at the pins from the side you should be able to see clear through from both sides if that explains it easier.......

Not sure if this is your problem though, as all IDE drives have the same pin connectors. Some have adaptors already on them that come off, which turns the pins into a kind of flat slot in connector, but this would need to come off.

That must be it, one side of the case is blocking the pins! is it possible to buy some sort of extender for the pins? 80 yoyo down the drain if not!

No extenders that I know of!

May be worth trying to get a return for refund / exchange from where you got it from stating is does not fit your device.
