eurovox max 2008 soon to be useless is this true

Ive been informed from a mate of mine that im wasteing my time flashing my euro 2008 box,i was told that N-L was told by S-Y that if they dont sort the problem of the boxes out they will withdraw there sevice to N-L.Can any one tell me if this is true and when this will happen would it be worth flashing my box,or is this just all rumours and silly talk.
