new to this site folks, have loaded usb to 9-pin serial to download software to box,saved link from forum suggestion, however when i hit the download button i am getting message NO AVAILABLE COM PORT... is this a problem with usb links and is the way to load through 'null modem' only cheers.
To see which port your USB adapter/ null modem combi is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the instructions: 1. Go to the Start Menu 2. Right click on "My Computer" 3. Select "Properties" 4. Click on the "Hardware" tab 5. Click on "Device Manager" 6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)" 7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.) 8. Go back to your Eurovox firmware/loader and make sure it is looking at the correct port. 9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected If you need drivers go here http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm
appreciate quick reply scOuser, but stuck as where to go at point 8 in your script (bit of a novice at this)COM 6 is its chosen port
Easiest way to explain is graphical I presume you are XP. Have a look here http://www.reslers.de/IBUS/port.html and select por 1 to 4 make sure they are not used already.
