Hello all. First time on the Eurovox thread. Have been on the Replay Lite and Digivox threads with great results. Have a prob with a mate's Eurovox Max V( black in colour). He lives in C****s area. He had a bit of bother with some of the channels and gave it to me to fix. However, when I plugged her in the screen shows an initial "circle" of green dots then nothing. The stanby light comes on too then goes off. Any ideas what might have happened? Any help would be appreciated as I'm not totally au fait with this particular box. I'm assuming that he already has the latesat CDF file loaded. Cheers in advance...

Is there absolutely nothing coming up on the front of the box?

Hi SG8, thanks for the swift reply. No nothing on the front panel, completly blank after the initial green ---- symbols circle the screen, and red standby light goes off. My feeling is the box is fried? Hope not..

Hey I think I found a similar problem on page 8 of this thread. Apologies for creating a new one. To quote Sc0user's reply from it " Try a hard boot reset. Unplug the EV, hit download on the UFL, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in again. It may take a few attempts.

If the bootloader is corrupt you may need to jtag it. "

I'm gonna give that a go.

Well I've tried everything but this is what shows up on the UFL screen "waiting for the response of your receiver". It also flashed between comm port 1 and 2 until I hit start and inserted power cable. Have connected via null modem cable which works just fine for other boxes I have ( Digivox/Replay Lite) so I'm sure it's not the cable or PC. Any ideas? Also can someone explain this jtag procedure and what it involves? I think the other boxes are easier to flash imo.

Jtag leave for the moment as you have power indications. Check the C14 capacitor on the PSU board for any indication of bulging or leakage.

BTW I know you said it is a Max V, what firmware are you trying to flash with?

Hi Sc0user, thanks for the info on jtagging. I scrolled thru the threads and found stuff on it. It looks scary :))

From what I remember when I ran UFL initially I think it said at the top version 2.10 (?). I agree it sounds suspiciously like a power prob. I gave the box back to my mate with advice to have it checked out in some electrical place. I must thank you and the rest of the guys/girls on Afterdawn forums. Assistance always spot on. Thanks to you all I have been reflashing and updating Digivox's and Replay Lites for ages with excellent results.

    Thanx again :)

    Hi Guys,

A little help needed. I've been a very very silly boy and managed to erase all the channels on my eurovox 2007. I tried doing a power scan which i somehow thought would pick up a few stations that I lost but I've lost everything. Then I tried restoring factory settings and this seems to have made things worse.

Anyone be kind enough to shed some light and point me in the right direction.

    Much appreciated.

You can use my CDF in Eamos at the bottom off my post.

    OR

    1. Press menu, installation, user installation. If asked for a pin use 1004.
    2. Start frequency at 290.000Mhz.
    3. End frequency at 420.000Mhz.
    4. Make sure 6.887 is the symbol rate.
    5. Press OK to scan.
    6. When powerscan completes, exit back to user installation.
    7. Press red button to update channels.
    8. As you said you have done a factory reset, exit all the way out and put it on Sly sports to update.

I presume you have the latest firmware.

Hi Scouser, cheers for this. So far so good.

Except, I have done as above but only ended up with 51 channels.

I havn't installed the latest firmware yet. I'm waiting on a friend to get around to doing it.

Make sure you are doing the scan from the direct feed. Do a factory reset and try again. If you are on firmware that doesnt auto update well you have a bit of a conundrum as codes cannot be got here sorry.

By direct feed I presume you mean the nthell cable plugged into the eurovox?

I have another source for codes so that isn't a problem :)

Tried again and I've still only got 51. Why did I have to go playing around. Such an idiot.

    Any more suggestions?

    Thanks for the help.

I don't mean to be a pain or to be taking up to much of your time but I'm not sure exactly what you want me to do. Do I need to install a programme from your virtual drive or is there a step by step guide in there?

I won't take up to much of your time, I'll get one of my more technologically enable friends to take a look tomorrow if I have no joy myself.

CDF is a Channel Dump File for your area/provider. My one is sorted into favourite groups. Yes you will find it in Eamos at the bottom of my post. (Eurovox Folder).

You will also find a comprehensive guide on how to use the CDF and how to download it. Get your friend to update your box while he is at it ;)

I've tried all the above a number of times but I'm still missing a good few stations. All the normal stations such as BBC, RTE, TV3 UTV etc. I'm also missing Skysports 1 & 2 and a lot of stations are showing up but there is no signal for them. Anyone any ideas?
